Guess The Airline - October 2004

The response rate has been overwhelming this month. I thought it was because the game was presumably simple this month. Nah. It was more because a lot of Canadians felt compelled to participate, as this was obviously an ad for a Canadian airline! We remind you this was a magazine ad published in a BTA (British Tourist Authority) promotional publication in Canada in 1993.

How to guess it?

A lot of people mentioned the goose, which they believed was a reference to this airline's former goose logotype (and its final version, called Proud Goose). However this ad was from 1993 so it should not have been a clue. Besides, the Canada Goose is merely an icon for the country itself. The real clues were behind the slogan: "The Dawn of Civilized Air Travel". Also, the text mentions this airline is the only Canadian airline to fly to five continents.
