Guess The Airline - December 2003

Every month, an airline printed advertisement is displayed for your guessing pleasure on Guess The Airline. This December's ad was not an easy one. Few people participated. A quick reminder: this was a magazine ad for a United States airline published in the 1960s.

How to guess it?

The clues were mostly in the advertisement's text. Which airline claimed to have the "biggest business computer" back then? Which airline used this font in its advertisements? But... I think pretty much the only solid way to guess would have been the last sentence of the text: "That's the ... way." Even today, this airline uses this phrase, including as a title for its inflight magazine.

Remember to read carefully the introductory text. Even though it is not part of the ad itself, it is important. This was an advertisement for a United States airline, so the possibilities are much more limited then.
