Pandora’s Clock (Movie review)

Imagine if a deadly virus could be onboard a commercial flight right before Christmas. The passengers are to be quarantined. Nobody is to get off the plane, or the planet would be faced with an epidemic with proportions never seen before. This is the exciting story behind the 4-hour mini-series/movie Pandora's Clock, based on the technothriller of the same name by John J. Nance. It was shown on NBC for the first time on November 10-11, 1996.

Airplane! (Movie review)

Surely you have seen (and loved) the Airport movies from the 1970s. But this is, according to Wikipedia, the movie that ended in beauty this decade of air disaster movies by making fun of them: Airplane! It's a composite spoof of pretty much everything you remember from the 1970s... or think you know about it, including the 1971 made-for-TV movie Terror in The Sky (itself a remake of Zero Hour, written by Airport's Arthur Hailey.)

Free Fall (Movie review)

At long last, I have been able to see this movie, not because it's good, but because it is quite mediocre. Even a news service, giving descriptions and ratings to movies in my province, gave this movie a 6 (1 being a masterpiece and 7 being an extremely poor movie.) At first, it looks like your average promising little made-for-TV flick. But as the ridiculous story unfolds, you find out you were in for two hours of wondering: "is this a real movie?"

Guess The Airline - August 2005

This was a different Guess The Airline, in the sense that it was not an actual airline advertisement, but rather a Bank of American advertisement, promoting a credit card affiliated to a major frequent flyer program. It was published on the airline's inflight magazine issue of March 2000.

The Taking of Flight 847: The Uli Derickson Story (Movie review)

"Ladies and gentlemen, the plane is being hijacked. The Captain has agreed to cooperate with the hijackers and take them wherever they wish to go. So please, for the sake of everyone's safety, just do exactly as you are told." How did this happen, and so quickly? How did the lead flight attendant cope with the threat of two terrorists with automatic weapons and hand grenades? And most importantly, how did she manage to keep all but one of her passengers alive?
