Paper plane (1998/Hong Kong-China) : The simplest commercials are sometimes the best, especially when they don't show the "product". In this case, a paper plane slowly circles the Earth, which stays perfectly still. A flight attendant later collects in her hand the paper plane, pushes the Earth so that it revolves on itself, and sends the plane back in the air, which soon gets energized. A simple way to advertise, at the same time, a diversified network (the Earth), a kind, warm crew (the flight attendant) and a competent service (the paper plane back in the air).

Entertainment (2000/International) : Simple, but straight to the point in showing how good the airline feels. A lady is watching a comic show, a man is eating noodles while watching something more captivating, a child is eating a yogurt while watching probably a cartoon, and a young man is listening to rock music. The final jingle is inspired by a song by Queen, "It's a kind of magic." Here is a translation...
Narrator: On Cathay Pacific's economy class, you have so many inflight entertainment possibilities, that you feel as good as in your own home.

Home (2000/International) : Another straight-to-the point ad. It plays on the role of Hong Kong being not only Cathay Pacific's home, but favorite destination. Pay close attention for the beautiful image of the flight deck and the smooth approach to the city. Here is a translation...
Narrator: We have been here, at home, for 50 years. So, during your stay in Hong Kong, we will obviously be your best advisors.
