You have to admit it's somewhat unusual, but oh so reassuring to see an airline tout its hygiene measures. The ad is extremely relaxing to watch. But then again you can start wondering... are these hygiene measures only applicable in Business Class? There are no images of Economy class there.

In a time when airborne viruses and the fear of catching a cold (or worse) inflight are present, isn't it reassuring to appreciate the efforts your airline makes in ensuring you breathe pure air? This is, to my knowledge, one of the few airline commercials advertising this.

Thai gently makes fun of the sterotypes of the U.S. culture in this hilarious video. You'll see Thai crew learning how to make hot dogs, talk in slang and catch a baseball, among other things. All of this leads to a more serious conclusion showing that on board their flights, Thai hospitality meets North American standards of service.

This ad gives you great little glimpses of Thai traditions and culture. You will see centuries-old scenes of elephants, temples, beautiful women in traditional dresses and lots of "wai" greetings, all mixed with modern-day scenes on a Boeing 747. It's truly a masterpiece of cinematography and of music.

"Once upon a time, Thai was one of the smaller airlines, but our desire to succeed soon made us bigger..." This is how the 30-second anecdote of an airline's growth begins. It is illustrated by the soft-spoken flight attendant's hands... and it ends with a cute tribute to the "wai" greeting!

Whether it's made out of flowers, lace or weaving, the Thai logo is fascinating... and showcases the gentle mix of traditions and technology.
