in the media
This is the section where mentions of airodyssey.net in the press are filed. Or... how the works of a journalism student somehow get mentioned by fellow journalists. We have only spotted two mentions up to now. Feel free to contact us if you spot any others.
May 30, 2001 There is a little blurb about us in Canada's largest daily newspaper, The Toronto Star in the May 30, 2001 edition, page D2. Movie columnist Peter Howell wrote about the 40th anniversary of movies on airplanes (inflight movies)... and mentioned that airodyssey.net was about airplanes on movies (air disaster movies)!
"There are also a lot of movies about aircraft - check out Montreal aircraft buff Sergio Ortega's site at AirOdyssey.net for his critical list of airline disaster movies.)" May/June 1999 If you take a look at the Airliners Magazine issue of May/June 1999, you will find the name of AIRodyssey, on the "Flying the Web" column by Thomas Becher, on page 66. This section reviews interesting web sites about commercial aviation. Right under the paragraph referring to our [now former] parent website, Aviation Internet Resources (AIR), the author writes:
"From [Aviation Internet Resources] you can link to AIRodyssey, a monthly on-line aviation magazine featuring news, anecdotes and a series of quizzes. Test your knowledge about airlines old and new, airports and even aviation movies. You'll know right away if you have the correct answers. (I scored 8 out of 10 in all categories but a perfect 10 on air disasters - showing they stick in the mind more than any other trivial fact)." Thank you, Thomas, and hoping the name of AIRodyssey will be mentioned in future aviation, and Internet publications in the years to come! | ||
