submit a movie review

Computer keyboard Before thinking of writing a movie review, please verify it is an air disaster movie. We define air disaster movies as movies where a civilian aircraft, commercial or private, is involved in any kind of incident, or accident, and that it is the main interest of the movie. In such movies, the action happens mainly onboard the plane. In the "air disaster" category can also be included movies based mostly on commercial aviation, and that do not necessarily include disasters.

All content submitted to airodyssey.net, solicited or not, is surrendered on a voluntary basis (no possible compensation). The author of airodyssey.net reserves the right to decline any submitted content.

In addition to the guidelines in place for an article, please consider the following:

  • Plot summary: give the beginning of the story, its context, a brief description of the main characters, and where the conflict starts. Don't give any spoilers (e.g. the terrorist of the hijacked plane was... the pilot!). Stop where you think the action starts to get very interesting and a viewer would keep watching it.

  • Your appreciation: positive, negative comments on the movie, and a grade out of 10. Don't be too generous, and don't be too critic.

  • Things to notice: include any goofs in the movie, such as aviation technical errors, plot holes, continuity mistakes, etc. Also include any interesting information about the movie (e.g. an actor who trained in a flight simulator for 3 weeks before playing his role of a... passenger!).

  • The planes: give any specifications you can about the aircraft involved in the movie, such as airline, aircraft type, registry, callsign, flight number, origin and destination, etc (e.g. airodyssey flight 2001, a Boeing 767 flying from Montreal Dorval to Lima, callsign Ody 2001).

  • Movie links: you can leave to us the task of including the link of the Internet Movie Database entry for the movie. We enter the URL featuring the TITLE, not the NUMBER, so when you click on it, you are always guaranteed to land on the right file. Include any interesting links for the movie, such as a website where you can download the Flight Simulator aircraft in the movie, a website where you can download audio or video clips of the movie, the official website in the case of a recent theatrical movie, etc.

  • Specifications: last but not least. Include the following info: country of origin, producing company (the company logo appearing at the beginning/end of the movie), year, director, main role actors/actresses, and MPAA rating, if possible. This information is always available at the IMDb. (e.g. U.S.A. 2001, produced by Universal Studios, directed by Jacques Strap, starring Amanda Huggenkiss, Ivana Tinkle, Seymour Botz... rated PG)
