guess the airline!
The number of people guessing it right was amazingly low. But at least the number of second tries was much higher than usual. Once again, this was a commercial published in a local Atlanta publication in late 1980, following the inauguration of the Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport (later renamed Hartsfield-Jackson). This is the full version! ![]() How to guess it?First of all, remember one thing: this ad was on a local Atlanta publication and the wording makes it seem as if Atlanta was a DESTINATION, not a hub. After all, the airline already flies to "New York, Chicago, Houston and Los Angeles." And its "(...nationality...) touch" comes in April 1981. A hub wouldn't use that kind of sentence. What else? It's all in the 747, and in its basic color scheme. And furthermore, the very small blank wouldn't justify a very long airline name. So, a three-letter name would make more sense. KLM, that is.
