guess the airline!
The response rate has been overwhelming this month. I thought it was because the game was presumably simple this month. Nah. It was more because a lot of Canadians felt compelled to participate, as this was obviously an ad for a Canadian airline! We remind you this was a magazine ad published in a BTA (British Tourist Authority) promotional publication in Canada in 1993. Ready? Scroll down! This is the mystery commercial. Scroll down to view the full version! ![]() Almost there! This is the full version! ![]() How to guess it???A lot of people mentioned the goose, which they believed was a reference to this airline's former goose logotype (when it was known as Canadian Pacific) ... and final logotype (the blue Proud Goose image, before the merger with Air Canada.) However this ad was from 1993 so it should not have been a clue. This is why people who said Canadian Pacific or CP Air got a reply from the author saying: "Not quite!". Besides, the Canada Goose is merely an icon for the country itself. The real clues were behind the slogan: "The Dawn of Civilized Air Travel", which could be found in a quiz previously displayed on airodyssey.net. Also, the text mentions this airline is the only Canadian airline to fly to five continents. StatisticsCorrect answers: 63% (Canadian Airlines exactly) Wrong answers: 37% Most submitted wrong answer: Air Canada (25%) Other answers submitted: Air Transat, British Airways, Canadair (sic), Canadian Pacific or CP Air. Statistics include second tries only, and not those submitted more than 10 times total by the same user.
