How to guess it?
A lot of people were clever enough to look at the few clues here and there. First of all, how Japanese is this ad? A lot! In the 1960s, there weren't many Japanese airlines that had an international network. Japan Air Lines (JAL) had, back then, a very distinctive route map, that would be featured on its commercials. All-Nippon Airways (ANA) would start international flights several years later. Plus, many people will have recognized the style of this particular commercial, part of a complete ad campaign.
